Lesson plans, developed by a wide-range of area educators, are available to Buffalo and surrounding school districts free of charge by a partnership that includes The Buffalo News Newspapers in Education Program, the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, the Materials Reuse Project and the Buffalo Teachers Center.

The ìArt on Wheels ñ Newspapers in Education Programî has made available lesson plans for area elementary, middle, and high schools.  Subjects like social studies, history and environmentalism can utilize plans that will incorporate such concepts as art, recycling, materials reuse and local culture and heritage.

All participating classes will receive the teaching guide, any necessary supplemental materials, and a Friday subscription to The Buffalo News.

In addition to the school lesson plans, you can download the series of ëTrailblazersí fun pages, focusing on Art on Wheels heritage sites, that appeared every Friday in the Gusto section of the News during the winter and spring of 2003, complete with trivia and historical facts about selected sites from the ëArts Trailí.
